With a passion... Inspired by the dream of collector Armando Martins, MACAM was born in Lisbon: a unique space that combines a hotel and a contemporary art museum.
With more than 600 works collected over 50 years, every corner—from the rooms to the galleries—is a celebration of Portuguese and international art.

In the Palace, the first floor features works by Portuguese artists from the generation prior to the Carnation Revolution of April 1974 – which brought democracy to Portugal for the first time. The second floor showcases works by international artists.
The modern gallery wing features works by post-1974 Revolution Portuguese artists - the new generation. In the Studios, we find a set of colorful works by renowned Portuguese artist José de Guimarães.
